Delicious food. Very pleasant atmosphere. Friendly and timely service.
Service was good. Hushpuppy wasn’t cooked on the inside. The batter on the oysters and fried okra wasn't cooked all the way .. Love that it was a Christian business
Waited for 30 minutes to be seated for breakfast. After waiting for 10 more minutes for service we were told that we can only order a BLT. Not sure if the food is good. We left after this.
The breakfast at this place was top notch. Homemade everything. Couldnt have asked for a better sunday brunch with my wife. Coming back soon for sure.
TL;DR Come for breakfast, not for lunch. Maybe dinner. Food is less than mediocre. There seems to be good prices for breakfast and dinner, but no reasonable price for lunch. Also, all the sandwiches and sides tasted and probably were from the freezer. I dont think my family got the best experience out of the restaurant. I think breakfast is their specialty by far, and is definitely good from what i see in the reviews. Currently having a food shortage issue. Service is good. There are a lot of flies flying around the restaurant. Not exceptionally clean, anything served there you could make yourself easily.
Great food. Great service. We had an issue with our meal but the staff took care of it immediately. Very please with this experience.
Always a great breakfast served here. We always stop on our way out of Topsail Island before our long drive home.
I have went to this restaurant a few times over the years. I have never had bad service. They are always friendly and prompt to wait on you. I ordered the "galley burger" and mashed potatoes. It was great. Everyone else ordered fish and shrimp stuff. No complaints from them either. The best part about this restaurant is the free...yes I said free, never ending hush puppies. They bring the baskets of hush puppies out by the dozen. This is the place to take the family for a great meal with great options.
Ordered breakfast at approximately 1015. Got coffee and orange juice in good time. Restaurant was less then 1/2 full neighboring table was there before us, not sure how long before we got there but approximately 20 minutes after we arrived they got their food..it was either cold or wrong..waitress discounted something off the ticket...after a 30 minute wait we FINALLY got our order.. I ordered biscuits "which was on ticket." I got cold toast..when she brought biscuit.. half of it was hard..like left over told her order was wrong after waiting 30 minutes..git a "I'm sorry" ...which I'm good with...my problem is..if we have been waiting that long we deserve an explanation or something..like I said was NOT busy...we live here and we won't return to your place of business
Breakfast was inexpensive and the restaurant was fairly clean, however, the food was only average at best. The biscuit was hard, the gravy was overly thick and had a film on top of it as if it had been sitting for a bit. The sausage was just flat out not good. The friend egg was well cook and yummy.
Highly recommend! I absolutely loved this place! The food was great. Very reasonably priced. Loved the great friendly staff. Knowledgeable waitress. Very clean. I also loved that they make Jesus the center of attention at this restaurant. From the In God We Trust sticker on the door to their Christian music on there radio to the bibles on their counter. I loved our experience here! Will come back!
Super nice staff and good food.
Great location, but the place looks outside like its under constant construction.. Looks really good from the inside! Atmosphere is nice and warm, family oriented. The food quality tho... Definitely not my taste. I dont appreciate when the ketchup is made of syrup and the mustard is Great Value brand. It goes down to the mashed potatoes which are made of powder, and the fries taste like Walmarts Great Value. I wonder if they make anything fresh inside.Their biggest burger isnt that big, and dry. The chicken philly sub is okay..Thats all we have tried. The coffee is standard. No variety of tea.Service was good!Won't come back again. Washing my taste buds with coffee; it almost helped.
We waited an hour for our food, only for our food to be cold. They were also out of hush puppies and shrimp. The service was slow, but I think that was just because they were short staffed.
No frills. Simple limited menu. Very good quality food. Fresh local and wild caught. Vegetables and sides are also as good. Best value. Friendly staff. Come as you are.
I try this place out of convenience and each time I am horribly disappointed... they supposedly cooked it fresh but that was the driest fish I have ever tried to choke down... hopefully I will remember next time!
I spent 70 dollars on 3 fried shrimps and 2 sides. The sides taste like they came straight out the can with no flavor and the shrimp were just gross like they have been frozen for years on top of the prices I could of done some fine dining. None of us even finished the food
Friendly service. Waiter Shawn is new but on the ball. Gonna do well. Kitchen forgot my meat. Overall pleasant experience.
This restaurant at this time (June 10) is not following NC reg's regarding social distancing. Menus are reused without disinfecting. Seating is at all tables, so if busy, expect to rub shoulders with the next table. No one is wearing masks.
Service was great but the food was kinda cold. Nice family atmosphere.
Service was good and we enjoyed the comfy food our waitress suggested.
Awful!! Waited a hour for the worst breakfast I have ever had in my life!!
Great family place to eat breakfast
One of the best breakfast spots around.
Great customer service, family friendly.
The food was very good, fried shrimp and founder was cooked perfectly. Service was lacking
Very family oriented. Food is delicious. Mrs. Sadie cooks with love, and it shows. The staff are super friendly, and welcoming. The owners come out and meet and greet their guests and that is what is welcoming. Everything is delicious, especially the side items.
Well if they allowed no starts that would be the true answer this review. I can guarantee you that I will never return to this place ever again in my life. The hush puppies were not cooked you open them up and they were mushy. My husband’s burger was not cooked, my oysters were plain and my scallops were raw. The even more sad part to this awful visit is she claimed she would take off some money due to the inconvenience but yet still charged us the same amount. We began to complain more and she said there’s nothing else she could do!!! so if I were you never into this place not even to just try it out!!!!!
Service was not good. Breakfast was less than desired. They need to improve quality of food.
The food was pretty good. We had at least 4 different plates, and it all hit the spot. The prices are fantastic! You can eat well for about $6. The server was really nice, although we didn't get drink refills. We will return, when in the area. And, its right over the bridge, so close to the beach.
This is a solid little diner just off the bridge before the beach. Enjoy good food and great coffee at a price that will also make your mouth water. Very clean and spaced out for those concerned about proximity and dining right now. Definitely an excellent weekend breakfast spot.
I've only tried the breakfast here and the food and staff were okay, nothing notable but the low review is because of cleanliness and low quality. Between the gunk lodged into the table and the Great Value syrup I was just underwhelmed. It is a no frills, cheap, and easy place so I can see how this is convenient for some. Personally I think this looks the "before" in an episode of Gordon Ramsay's "Kitchen Nightmares" show. (name of the show is harsh but it's just a below average place)
Great little mom and pop diner. Saff is fast and eager to serve. Would reccomend this place for breakfast if you looking for something delicious and fair priced
Love coming here for breakfast. The staff is awesome and we are never let down with the food.
Good breakfast. Nice wait staff!
They start severing lunch at 2 PM. I don't eat breakfast. They saff is great. Will try next time after 2 PM.
Our family and friends came in from Roanoke VA to spend time with my daughter and her friend who recently graduated from MCT for the United States Marine Corp. we randomly picked Batson’s Because it looked fun on the outside. Our experience was unforgettable the waitresses were the best, friendly as can be and catering to our every need! Then the owner stopped by the table to ask us where we were from and Chat! He was the sweetest, making sure we were taken care of and then out of pride and respect for our wonderful country and our newly appointed Marines he kindly thanked them for their service!! One of the highlights of our trip! Oh, by the way, the food was fabulous!! I loved the shrimp burger! Yum
Very polite. Very quick service, reasonable prices
Food was cold and the quality wasn't very good.
Very friendly, shared a plate and still took home another full portion
I went for the country links sausage I'd seen in one of the photos. They weren't very busy and we got to pick our table. The folks are really friendly and the kept out coffee and tea filled. The sausage had medium spiciness and a good flavor, the eggs were ok and the home fries were good with the seasoning well distributed. The only reason this isn't a 5 star is it was a little slow considering how not busy they were. On the other hand if you're on vacation and time isn't something you're factoring in consider it a 5 star.
Tried it due to the convenient location but it didn't work out. The staff were nice and not so much a part of this negative review. The food was not good (however it was cheap) , the syrup was crystallized in the container, there was mold in between the boards of the table, and the coffee tasted burnt. All in all, I wanted to like the place, the staff was nice, but it really just was not good in any way.
Food is good and reasonably priced. Owner was very nice and thanked our Marine daughter for her service. Maybe not where you go for gourmet food, but if you want a locally owned place with nice people, good food and not have to break the bank, this place is great.
Prices are great, food is average but good, portions are more than fair. Restaurant is clean. A great place to get a regular meal.
Pleasant and relaxed atmosphere! Staff is wonderful and food was great! Will definitely return!!!
Great breakfast and lunch place. Try the sausage biscuits and gravy they're delicious
